The idea for this essay came from some meaningful conversations over at Substack notes and comments (I might or might not be looking at you, Kelly 😉). It's funny how the most profound insights can spring from casual chats, isn't it? But that's often how the Universe works – dropping little nuggets of wisdom when we least expect it.
~
Many of you know my story – those 20 minutes when I was clinically dead changed everything. In that suspended state between life and death, I discovered a profound truth: we are never truly disconnected from the Divine. That experience was my wake-up call, jolting me into a new understanding of our reality.
~
Imagine this: we're all walking around with invisible IVs, constantly feeding us Divine energy. Sounds a bit out there, “WOO” level dialed way up, right? But stick with me.
This 'Heavenly IV Drip' isn't some new-age concept I'm trying to sell you. It's the very essence of our existence. It's always there, always flowing, whether we're aware of it or not.
Now, you might be thinking, "If we're always connected, why do I feel so alone sometimes?" Believe me, I've asked myself the same question. Shortly, and totally oversimplified, it's like having the latest smartphone but forgetting to charge it. The capability for connection is always there, but sometimes we need to plug in consciously.
Since my near-death experience, I've become profoundly aware of the signs of this Divine presence in everyday life. And let me tell you, once you start noticing, it's like God is constantly sending you little messages and reminders of its loving presence.
Remember that time when everything just fell into place perfectly? Or that goosebump-inducing coincidence that felt too perfect to be random? That's the Universe gently nudging you, whispering, "I've got you!"
And it's not just abstract forces at work. Our angels, our departed loved ones, they're all part of this grand support system. They're like our personal Heavenly cheerleaders, rooting for us from the spiritual sidelines.

Here's a fundamental truth: You can never disconnect from God because you are part of it. But in our busy lives, we can forget and ignore that connection. It's beautifully simple, yet profoundly important.
The first step is to acknowledge it's there, trust, believe, and know it's there. Always. It's like the air around us – invisible, but vital and ever-present.
Now, let's address something crucial: Most of the time, we only turn to God/ the Universe / The Divine/ insert your preferred title here when we're feeling extremely lost or desperate. In these moments, we might try to use meditation or other spiritual practices as a quick fix. But here's the thing – these techniques aren't meant to "fix" anything. They're not a band-aid for life's challenges.
What truly changes your life is your genuine faith and connection. When you change the way you think and feel, the external world as you know it will dissipate and become new. It's not about using spirituality as a tool when things get tough; it's about living in constant awareness of your Divine connection.
Here are a couple of ways I've found helpful in strengthening and nurturing this connection:
Mindfulness and Meditation: When I quiet my mind, I create space to receive those Divine signals more clearly. Not as a fix, but as a way to tune in to what’s always there.
Gratitude Practices: Expressing appreciation is my way of sending an ethereal "thank you" note. The more grateful I am, the more reasons I find to be grateful. This isn't about changing your circumstances but about changing your perception.
Now, I'll be honest – while understanding this connection can be instantaneous, consistently tapping into it takes practice. Like any skill, it requires dedication to truly master. You might think it's easy to change your thinking, but it just might be the hardest thing you've ever done. But stay consistent, forgive yourself for slipping, and watch the miracles appear around you.
The key is consistency and patience. It's about constantly monitoring your thoughts and emotions, catching yourself when your mind wanders off to its previously programmed autopilot (oh look, a squirrel). When you notice yourself slipping into old patterns of disconnect, gently redirect your focus back to your Divine connection.
Think of it like training a puppy. That puppy will pee on the floor, it will chew on your favorite slipper, it will wander off the beaten path, and that's all a-okay. The practice is in noticing and bringing it back, over and over again. Each time you do this, you're strengthening the connection, making it easier to tap into.
Remember, you're not aiming for perfection here. You're aiming for progress. Every moment of awareness, every conscious reconnection, is a step forward on this incredible journey. These moments, however small they might seem, are the building blocks of a profound shift in your life. They're the quiet whispers that, over time, become a symphony of Divine connection. And if you feel a strong pull back to the shit-show-forest, go for it! Sometimes the best reminders come from going back to things and thoughts we don’t find value in anymore.

I'm sharing all of this with you not because I have all the answers (far from it), but because I want you to know you're not alone in your journey. Whether you're feeling deeply connected or utterly lost, remember – your heavenly IV drip is always flowing, providing you with an endless supply of Divine love and guidance.
So, the next time you're feeling disconnected, take a deep breath and remember – you're always just one thought away from tapping into your Divine nature. The Heavenly IV Drip is on, it's unlimited, and it's all yours.
Why not take a big, refreshing gulp right now? Trust me, it's the best kind of intoxication – and it comes with no hangover, just a deeper sense of peace and purpose.
And hey, if you ever want to chat more about this, you know where to find me. After all, it was a conversation that sparked this whole reflection. Who knows what our next chat might inspire?
Love always,
So great! I love the analogy of having the latest smart phone but not charging it. I think most of us have a well established routine of tapping in to our phone’s power source, as we rely on our devices so much in our daily lives. How much more exciting and magical can our lives be when we make tapping into the Ultimate Power Source a daily ritual?!
I love this. I'm a believer. No, it's not even a belief. I know it's real. It's more real than our day to day lives.
